My Uncomfortability Checklist!

Day 3 : Things that make you uncomfortable
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This #BlogEveryDay challenge turns out to be a tough one.  I thought long and hard but  my thoughts just refuse to cooperate with each other. Its a good evening, so i went for a walk to clear up my mind. I had a 10 minute walk thinking about this topic and at the end of it believe me i came back rushing. The more  i think about it the more i find what makes me uncomfortable and I started to think, thinking about being uncomfortable is actually making uncomfortable. Is that even possible?
Anyway i thought i got enough points and i should just sum it up. Well the first one is not so surprising. I hate awkward conversations (#1). Although i feel obligated at times to just continue the conversation, it just is brings unease when i can't fully express my opinion thinking it might hurt the other person and as reluctant when trying to find the same from others...what if i don't like it? yeahhhh...talk about your confrontation issues! Its similar to the obligated meetings (#2), topics seem to cease coming to my mind. As much as i like to stop by and say hi when i see someone i know especially from long ago, i sometimes feel guilty and blindly believe i have already offended them and it automatically makes me uncomfortable..well that's weird! cauz they haven't spoken to you either right?
Another thing that i understood i am uncomfortable with is spotlight. In group discussions i wont start the topic no matter how good i am at a topic considering that i might actually be side-tracking the topic. More over there is some part in me that always tells me my point will be unique and better nonetheless and the topic could be extended properly only once its introduced by someone  else. But its really the responsibility (#4) that comes with it. I am very bad at handling responsibilities...Tell me about it! Because once i believe its my responsibility and i don't do it, i feel i cant escape (#5) from it....something i do at regular basis whenever i am uncomfortable!
I have to confess i don't like to think a lot but this challenge is making me do exactly that. And there is this tone in me that always wants to be heard like my inner voice and i ended up writing them too!

RSS BOT :: ACTIVE

Day 2, Thursday: Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at.
Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There aren't many things that come to my mind when i think about this topic. Especially the 'good at' part! My mother always complains i am good at spending money unnecessarily and wasting time with computer. Does that count? ...As if!
I am good at following trends. Like i said in my previous post, I like to look for the brightest candy store. yeah! i am talking about the Internet..not a Candy store!.It is the one good thing about being an RSS junkie. Interesting stuff pops out of every where. Ofcourse Reddit and Twitter are where you should be looking at. But i am afraid of both because there is too much information and you might just get lost. Unfortunately i do my reading in my office during breaks so, i cant follow blogs. But if you dont have such restrictions , you can use it to go through a 100 websites or blogs popular posts and yet not get lost! :D
Ofcourse what you add to the RSS list matters. You can easily identify the big guns...Techcrunch, Mashable, Digg, Endgadget. As you go on you can add others. But i don't how people come across interesting blogs. Once i tried to check out few top blogs list in various categrories but its not bright enough so i left!
Although i am not an expert i love exploring possibilities of various Gadgets.  Who doesn't? Reading about them and also experimenting on them! But unfortunately my wallet doesn't agree with me and I cant get my hands on many of the gadgets. I rooted my Android phone and tried flashing. Its flashy that i can flash but its not actually flashy because my stock android is 2.3 but it did not allow me to flash ICS so i flashed it back!
Seems like i really dont know enough! Maybe i should takeup on a hobby.....what say make Ironman suits? :P

The First Step!

Day 1 : The story of your life in 250 words or less

I have kinda accepted the challenge a little while after it started but heyy, better late than never right? So I am gonna compensate for thee lost time!
I am the most handsome - adventure loving ( I wouldn't pass on the glory of an explorer for the world!! ) - most punctual (I loooove timelines :P) - highly efficient ( Employee routines have been designed after me ) - fashion loving (i set the trend!) - daily exercising ( my sneakers can calculate my energy expenditure ) - software guy who got a job right after graduation because the company thought i am too skilled that they couldn't let me waste my time.

If you believed the above para, then i will dedicate my life to lying blogging :P
So for the record, i am a lazy - fun loving - techno crazy - regularly irregular software guy and i always look for the biggest candy store even though i got lost (...well you know what i mean!). My life made most of the decisions for me till graduation and i just went with it! and it wasn't half bad. But now i am always in a constant dilemma.

What story??
yeahh...about that! If my story is what i make of my life with my own decisions, I am just getting started designing the cover page. All i did this year was watch movies, English and Korean series, following my favorites in Shonen Jump, roam into unknown places and play a game of finding my way back. I will add blogging if i successfully complete this challenge.

A Challenge?

I have known about blogging like from the dinosaurs age may be? One day i even dared and started a new blog (yeah...you guessed it! Not this one!). I put in a few posts, A few days later I came back to my blog and read all my posts again (okay..there were just two)  and for some reason i felt awkward and removed the blogs from public. I haven't even shared the link with my friends to begin with.
After the epic event i totally avoided blogging (even reading personal ones as well)... i didn't overcome my fear and deleted my blog and i was afraid reading other blogs will haunt me. A few years later i came by a friend who is a consistent blogger and when i came to know about it , i started reading and i enjoyed it. It became a habbit of mine. He even made me start blogging again. Well i did a few posts again. But in the mean time we got allocated into different cities and all of a sudden i couldn't post regularly like i hoped. But i said to myself i am not going to just delete it this time.
Today i read a post on his blog about a challenge (yeah Ajay..its your rambling :P)...to post a blog everyday. Something told me i should try it! So here i am (...before i could change my mind). If i did get this challenge down and i want to I have you to thank for it Jenni.

For the Greater Good!

Look at you! You are cool right? You have one of those cool and slick Samsung touch phones or one of those high end phone that you are sure your friends will recognize at once that you bought it even though you think its over-prized. You were casually visiting a mall when you miraculously found that your favorite showroom is offering 10% discount that you had to buy at-least two dresses to appreciate your own good luck!

At the end of day when you have to do some work that will let you earn that money you spent all this time, you go to Wikipedia right? A lot of foolish people makes sure its updated so you don't have to worry if its wrong. A lot of people trust it so much so that even if you are wrong you can blame it on Wikipedia and they will understand because they might have used it one time or the other. You don't have to look-up all over the web to put fake reference links for your article put together in the last minute with info from Wikipedia because there are a dozen resources for every page. You don't have to worry about royalty on images from Wikipedia because a lot of generous people have already taken care of that. And best of all Wikipedia is free. You can exploit it as much as you want and no one will ask you.

I am fine with all of that. You can afford such expensive things then you might as well buy them. You have people around you that will be awed by a cool sandals you might as well have them. You want to utilize your favorite information source to the fullest and that is a good thing and it in turn appreciates the work of people who tried to keep it updated. Its okay for a school boy busy in putting something in the assignment to neglect Wikipedia but its not okay for you. You of all people know exactly how resourceful you felt when you reached out for information in Wikipedia so you of all people should support strengthen its roots so that it can provide shade for people in need in future.

That's right! I am talking about you. Start supporting Wikipedia today and be a part of it! Update info on Wikipedia whenever you find discrepancies and donate to Wikimedia foundation to keep it free and Open! There is still a lot more it can offer you. Have faith and invest in its future!

p.s: most of the things above are what i do but i am sure you can relate to them too!

Cool People Care!

A while ago...wait...its not a while ago..its like 2 years ago!..so, 2 years ago i signed up for a newsletter called Cool people care. It kinda has a cool ring to it ! and i care a little about environment..enough to become a Green ambassador actually. It is weird being called that though! If anyone calls me that i immediately compare myself to the green ogre! "haha..how funny! so.. " No shutup! i am not telling the similarities!

I get a lot of newsletters and this guy really gets to me sometimes. I got inspired by him once and ran like 10 rounds around the college ground! The aftermath..My body and I came to an agreement to never do that again!! But i didnt remove the subscription though almost always i delete the mail as soon as i get them. So today i got a mail from this guy asking me to "Care about something in 2013!". So I thought its a good idea and here i am rambling about what i care!
I will start off with the most obvious - "Family". They were there through my best and worst and i am sure they will be till my last breath. Though when i am at my home all my mom does is shout at me, afterwards i am like - Getout! What caring mom doesn't do that? I care about having good time with friends!
I am a dog person but my mom freaks out.so, Puppiees - strike! "The planet" - sure, except when i am using the tissues in the washroom excessively! Makes me feel so bad afterwards, but the alternative is worse. We have a family garden anyway! and i always support a good green cause! (there i go with green again!)

I care about "cleanliness" but i will forget the mess caused by the excessive wires i might have. I always use dustbins and I dont ever - ever spit on the road!! (I dont understand whats wrong with those people anyway?).

"Being alive" - Sure, I care about being alive and am not really up to making effort to kill myself by suicide or wierd road accident or whatever which i can avoid! But i am with those guys who thought I dont care if the world ended last year! If its really going to end, you wont have a choice! and if you are worried - stop freaking out and do something about it that lets you have peace with the planet! "Peace with the planet!" - Nice catch phrase huh!

I care about "Technology"! There is a lot of technology out there from decades that we can use to achieve a lot! But we are not using it! I care about bringing more technology to common use! And i care how people perceive technology too.
I care about having interesting reads. My definition of a good book is one that will drive my adrinaline mad and also have a good impact on me after reading the book. Reading good books is my way of entering into different worlds! There are times when books and movies had greater impact on me than persons in my life!
I care about wierd ways people showoff their artistic nature and how people respond to it! I care about the "impact" that i make on others and i hope its always positive. I care about a million other things that i might have forgot to mention but if you comment what you care about..may be i will remember! :)

I triumph! I conquer!!

Age Of Empires 3 - This game was released in late 2005. Now that i think about it i was in 10th class. I played Age of Empires 2 in the 10th holidays, as is the tradition in India to play previous version of the game while the new version is available because the new version is craving all the attention that producers wont care if the old version is being distributed..or so i thought those days. The fact is they couldn't do anything about the peer-to-peer torrent distribution and people who knew about this just made hardcopies and sold them. Anyways..i learned the ways of internet (pirate bay! :P) and downloaded this version during next year holidays i think and was fascinated by the graphics!I even thought this must be the 3D experience! Yesss....those were dark times...and this became my precious and soon the inevitable happened! My system started failing me...believe me it took me ages to determine it was the ram! I knew a few things about using computers...like you would know after reading a manual...so this is when situation demanded more understanding... i guess in a way it helped me (or spoiled me) love computers (..not machines...absolutely...just this...because i understood there are only a handful of things in my life that i can understand through logic and this is one of them!). So....back to topic...I couldn't complete the game!! :(
Age Of Empires III

An year after that, gob gave me a boon (...dont get the wrong idea..he made me drop out of IIT coaching and reject AIEEE allotment and i dearly paid for that by having to hear everyone saying i am wasting my capability blah..blah..) and i joined a college nearby which had a peculiar requirement that everyone should have a learning laptop! I love my college for that or else i would never have been able lay my hands on a lappy...well until 4th year atleast. So after wasting a lot of time exploring everything and watching countless movies i came back to AOE3.So, what happened is i just didnt want to run it with out playing AOE2!! How silly of me to want to play a old version of the game that i already completed? i succumbed to my impulse ...downloaded old version and played...and in the mean time...enter the dragon NFSMW....another time about it...but the bottom line is she is my new precious and hours of being hunted by cops made my lappy get blue screen of death! and worse was yet to come...the hot burst!! I was never able to complete AOE2 because it almost always makes me stay for more than an hour in the game and my lappy could only take so much heat :(
I am talking about all this nonsense because I finally did it! I finally exorcised the long haunting ghost of AOE3!! Hail Trinity!!! Yeah..i am talking about my new laptop powered by dual graphics trinity!I downloaded and completed the three acts of the game in just a week!I am bragging...considering the bandwidth under which i downloaded it.
Finally i can say.....I triump! I conquer!! and the Age of Empires bows to my command! I made the black family proud and guiding them was a lot of fun :)
