I triumph! I conquer!!

Age Of Empires 3 - This game was released in late 2005. Now that i think about it i was in 10th class. I played Age of Empires 2 in the 10th holidays, as is the tradition in India to play previous version of the game while the new version is available because the new version is craving all the attention that producers wont care if the old version is being distributed..or so i thought those days. The fact is they couldn't do anything about the peer-to-peer torrent distribution and people who knew about this just made hardcopies and sold them. Anyways..i learned the ways of internet (pirate bay! :P) and downloaded this version during next year holidays i think and was fascinated by the graphics!I even thought this must be the 3D experience! Yesss....those were dark times...and this became my precious and soon the inevitable happened! My system started failing me...believe me it took me ages to determine it was the ram! I knew a few things about using computers...like you would know after reading a manual...so this is when situation demanded more understanding... i guess in a way it helped me (or spoiled me) love computers (..not machines...absolutely...just this...because i understood there are only a handful of things in my life that i can understand through logic and this is one of them!). So....back to topic...I couldn't complete the game!! :(
Age Of Empires III

An year after that, gob gave me a boon (...dont get the wrong idea..he made me drop out of IIT coaching and reject AIEEE allotment and i dearly paid for that by having to hear everyone saying i am wasting my capability blah..blah..) and i joined a college nearby which had a peculiar requirement that everyone should have a learning laptop! I love my college for that or else i would never have been able lay my hands on a lappy...well until 4th year atleast. So after wasting a lot of time exploring everything and watching countless movies i came back to AOE3.So, what happened is i just didnt want to run it with out playing AOE2!! How silly of me to want to play a old version of the game that i already completed? i succumbed to my impulse ...downloaded old version and played...and in the mean time...enter the dragon NFSMW....another time about it...but the bottom line is she is my new precious and hours of being hunted by cops made my lappy get blue screen of death! and worse was yet to come...the hot burst!! I was never able to complete AOE2 because it almost always makes me stay for more than an hour in the game and my lappy could only take so much heat :(
I am talking about all this nonsense because I finally did it! I finally exorcised the long haunting ghost of AOE3!! Hail Trinity!!! Yeah..i am talking about my new laptop powered by dual graphics trinity!I downloaded and completed the three acts of the game in just a week!I am bragging...considering the bandwidth under which i downloaded it.
Finally i can say.....I triump! I conquer!! and the Age of Empires bows to my command! I made the black family proud and guiding them was a lot of fun :)

Mad or Smartass??

Google says a genius is a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative. A genius can recognize or create connections between facts, phenomenon, theories and observations that had not been connected before in other people's mind. Who wouldn't want a lifetime of such original thinking? Everyday becomes a new unique mystery to solve cause you are the one making the connections! But, Google only told me what i wanted to think. It missed a lot of other things which Wikipedia (My savior- Jesus can be in any form :P) is sure to cover!
A genius can be a scholar in a particular subject (like Einstein or Newton) or the individual as an entirety (the people we frequently find in movies ofcourse). I luV the second category. This type are acknowledged by everyone, have an admirable social life and most importantly everyone likes them! Coming back to the first category, its not like i dont like them. I respect them. But, as the Wikipedia quotes ".....genius tends to be often accompanied by a touch of madness.....". There are people who even describe genius as an illness! Not just any people, mind you, these are people who we know as researchers. They say that most of the creative genius  have a gene, neuregulin 1, in common which is also linked to psychosis and psychological depression. The history of these genius reflect loneliness. They are so bright that no one else understands them. They make innovations that will transform peoples life's but they wont be acknowledged properly until they are long dead. They get to stand on top of the world but they always stand alone! There...that is exactly why I have a phobia for the whole 'genius thing'.
Some people in my batch would say I am intelligent, brilliant, genius. One good pal of mine would even go as far as to say that I am phenomenal and that I am Microsoft material. My project spoc would say that I am a genius in disguise and that if he could pull out half my talent to surface, we could do miracles. That is flattery in its own level. I am like one of those Hydrogen balloons having rope cutoff ( ignoring the part what happens afterwards  ). If you are wondering, I prefer to be a team-player than to be the brain of a brain anytime. But its always good to be acknowledged! Thank You.

Sometimes I wonder, though unknowingly, did he mean I am mad?

What is interesting?

I have been thinking of writing a lot lately. So, I figured I should start once I find something interesting. Here I am, in a MTM (Meet The Mentor) session, bored to death , dragged away from my old friend and isolated from all my classmates. As is obvious, there is a lot of chattering going on around in the hall. Having nothing to do, I idly stare at the faculty that are supposed to control us until the 'mentor' meets us!
There is this one bizki lead who is counting the number of associates from each learning group that bunked the session. When she is done, she tries to bring pindrop silence into the hall. This is the interesting part. She says something about our ability to go on and on about 'nothing' and asks us to stop it. Its as if nothing happened, there is no response from the associates.
She then playfully says blah-blah mocking us. Her little performance i must say hasn't gone unnoticed. She has more than half of the associates attention. But unfortunately for her the effect is not permanent (...the things they expect amuses me...). Now, this is my favorite part. She raises her voice a bit and stares at the groups still going 'hush-hush'. No one likes people staring at them. So, they stop. In most of the cases this should work except there are about 7 unyielding learning groups present. She looses the cool, starts tapping the podium pretending urgency & importance. But, duh, we had four years of anything you had to show. She exits the hall unable to do anything else. I must say, she had that coming.
This takes me back to all those times teachers tried various kinds of tactics to bring silence to the classroom like scolding a particular person, cracking nonsense jokes, being very serious (as in ready to go for the kill anytime :P), distracting us to think about the marks we got in the bundle of exam papers they bring....how can what seems like a simple unnoticeable thing be so interesting .....I wonder!
